Function of Ozone Layer

Function of Ozone Layer

Ozone is found with the number on the top of Stratospheric, the area also known as the ozone layer. Standard way of measuring the amount of atmospheric ozone is by using Dobson units. Ozone is used in mining measured by ppm (parts per million - Courant per million) (for example OSHA), and the heavy cent. Ozone is also produced by humans for use as a water purification materials, bleach, and one of the plastic forming elements.

Here the ozone filter the light past the light purple of the sun's harmful to life on earth. In the beginning, ozone managed to reject or filter out ultraviolet light by the Earth's atmosphere and form the ozone layer at an altitude of 50 kilometers.

Benefits of the ozone layer is very important because it absorbs ultraviolet radiation (UV) from the sun to protect high radiation to the earth's surface. UV radiation in the form of the spectrum have a shorter wavelength than light. UV radiation with wavelength is between 280 to 315 nanometers that are recognized UV-B and he destroyed almost all life. By absorbing UV-B radiation before he gets to the Earth's surface, the ozone layer protects the earth from harmful radiation effects of life.

Stratospheric ozone also gives an effect on the atmospheric temperature which determines the temperature of the world.

3. Damage to the ozone layer Damage to the ozone layer believed to be caused by man-made gas, ie halogenate hydrocarbons in a very stable and may come to the ozone layer. Halogenate hydrocarbon will describe the ozone molecules and produce chlorine.

Known threat to the balance of ozone is the introduction kloroflorokarbon (CFC) that increase the levels of man-made ozone removal of lead-ansur beransur slump in global ozone paras. CFC is used by modern society in various ways, as there are in crates cool, push material in throwers, the manufacture of foams and solvents especially for refineries electronics.

The metabolisn for CFC absorbed by ozone. CFC, and the function of ozone layer of  molecules decompose after with uv rays, and liberate chlorine atom. Chlorine atom is also attempting to destroy ozone and produce the ozone hole. mean that the molecule was released today should form 50 to 100 years in the atmosphere before it was abolished. In a period of approximately 5 years, CFCs move up slowly into Stratospheric (10-50 km).

On top of the main ozone layer, mid-altitude range 20-25 km. However depletion of the layer is reported happen. Please read the article of Depletion Ozone Layer

  8. OZONE LAYER very useful for life on Earth because it protects us by absorbing 90% of ultraviolet radiation (UV) rays emitted by the sun. It is known that UV rays are very danger
